Bonnie Thurber Klimowski

Bonnie Thurber Klimowski began her professional career playing for three years with the State of Mexico Symphony Orchestra in Toluca, Mexico. She moved back to Vermont in 1980 where she continues her career as a performer and teacher. Bonnie has free-lanced with many ensembles and is a long time member of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, the Vermont Contemporary Music Ensemble, Frevo and the Stringendo string trio. She is a graduate of the University of Vermont and also holds a Master of Music degree in cello Performance from Kent State University in Ohio. Her teachers include Flora Kinsey, Moshe Amitay and Norman Fisher. She has teaching studios in Essex Jct. and Fairfax and is the cello instructor at Saint Michael’s College. Bonnie enjoys folk music and is featured on three of Jon Gailmor’s albums. She also tours with the VSO string trio, Fiddlesticks, presenting programs for children.
