Sarah Cullins

Sarah CullinsAmerican soprano Sarah Cullins recently returned to the US after a 10-year career in Bogotà, Colombia. She divides her time between singing Latin American and Spanish repertoire with her duo 8 Cuerdas and as part of the quartet The Piazzolla Project, as well as performing opera, oratorio and symphonic works.

After winning Colombia’s National Voice Competition in 2004, Sarah was a frequent soloist with the Colombian National Symphonic Orchestra and the Bogotà, and Medellín Philharmonics as well as several opera companies in Colombia and Guatemala. She also founded and directed the opera and voice program at the Central University in Bogotá, which quickly gained national acclaim and became a catalyst for an operatic resurgence in universities and theaters nationwide.

Upon her return to Vermont in 2013, Sarah made her debut with the Opera Company of Middlebury and recently appeared in Erik Nielsen’€™s A Fleeting Animal in theaters throughout Vermont. Sarah performs regularly as a soloist with the Oriana Singers/New York Chamber Players and the Vermont Youth Orchestra, and is on the voice faculty of the University of Vermont. www.sarahcullins.com / www.8cuerdas.com.
